A necessary vessel for storing home-made wine, beer and moonshine is a baklag. It is a small sized flat container made of oak. The characteristic disk-shaped shape of the baklaga significantly saves space and is convenient when transporting with a drink. The main part in improving and forming the organoleptic qualities of the drink is taken by oak wood substances. The redox processes of the formation and maturation of an alcoholic drink occur when it is in direct contact with wood. To refine the drink in the baklag with the desired taste, aroma and color, the container is preliminarily fired.
