Continuous Evaporation System for Baby Mixes Application The Tetra Scheffers Dry Evaporator is a fully automated continuous evaporation system. Drying is used to produce a full range of infant formula for babies of any age. The system is designed in accordance with the requirements of the customer, who can choose various combinations of supported products and performance characteristics. How it works The product is fed to the Tetra Scheffers evaporator from the mixing zone. Coming from a surge tank, the product is preheated in a tubular heat exchanger. As the product exits the first heating chamber, direct steam injection begins. Drying works on the principle of a falling film, i.e., the product and steam move down the pipes. Near the bottom, the concentration decreases and steam is absorbed by the separator, while the fine particles of the concentrate are separated from the steam. The concentrated product is pumped into the concentrate tanks in the dryer.
