One of the simplest and most effective ways to increase the nutritional value of grain feed is extruding. Its essence lies in the fact that the grain is subjected to short-term, but very intense mechanical and barothermal effects due to high temperature (150-180 ° C), pressure (about 50 atm.) And shear forces in the screw working bodies of the extruder, resulting in a change structural-mechanical and chemical composition of the feedstock. Complex structures of proteins and carbohydrates break down into simpler ones, fiber - into secondary sugar, starch - into simple sugars. In a short time of processing raw materials, protein does not have time to coagulate. The resulting feed retains all vitamins and physiological active substances, and bacteria, infectious sticks and molds are destroyed. Starch partially passes into sucrose. Toxic materials decompose into inactive and cease to be hazardous. Due to a sharp drop in pressure upon the release of the heated grain mass, an “explosion” (increase in volume) of the product occurs, which makes it more accessible for the action of enzymes of the stomach of animals and sharply increases its digestibility (up to 95%). During the extrusion processing of grain, half of the work of the animal’s stomach is carried out by the extruder and therefore the energy of the feed is entirely used to build the animal’s body.
